As a wedding photographer you never really know what you are going to get until the day. Or rather, as the day unfolds.

I meet around 95% of my clients prior to their wedding day, but in the case of Kate & Paul, we had not been able to hook anything up.

Plus I didn’t have a whole ton on info about what they had planned for their wedding. Concerns? A few…

But then the day unfolded perfectly other than the weather which was decent enough early on, even sunny at times, but then faded as the day went on.

It didn’t change a thing, other than forcing the planned outdoor meal indoors, but this opened up other opportunities.

And then there were a gazillion children. OK, 12 children and even a third of that number can make for some chaotic parts of the wedding day. Normally… Nope, unless I had known there were 12 children there because my notes said so, I wouldn’t have known.

It was one of those days that just worked. It worked mostly due to two principal reasons:

A: Kate & Paul kept things simple. Limited fuss and outside services, but did what they had well. Very well.

B: Kate & Paul themselves. Relaxed (well as relaxed as any bride or groom can be on their wedding day!) and placed 100% faith in me.

The results I think speak for themselves and I’d happily shoot this wedding again and again and again.

Other special mentions to the team behind the scenes, the staff at Chateau de Lisse and the planning team at The Impeccable Pear who put on another impeccable event. Also, DJ James Carr.
